Dr. Giovanni Ramundo is PMP’s leading pain specialist and is nationally board-certified in anesthesiology and also fellowship trained in pain medicine. Dr. Ramundo’s practice of interventional pain medicine bridges the gap between conservative therapy and invasive surgery. His specializations include spinal cord stimulator placement for failed back syndrome, percutaneous discectomy, and spinal diagnostics and treatment. Dr. Ramundo is affiliated with Overlook Hospital, St. Barnabas Medical Center, and Short Hills Surgery Center and several other NJ locations.
Lori D’Andrea, PA-C is nationally board-certified and has a special recognition in surgery. She is a graduate of Binghamton University and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She is committed to the management of acute and chronic pain with the most comprehensive and advanced evidence-based practice to improve the quality of daily living for each patient.
We would like to announce that Dr. Hiral Patel, MD, DC.C.ac Board Certified PM&R has joined Pain Medicine Physicians
She is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine and completed an internship in internal medicine at Elmhurst Hospital-Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She did her residency at Montefiore Albert Einstein School of Medicine. She completed post graduate training in medical acupuncture at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
She is a physiatrist who is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She is also certified in Medical Acupuncture in NY and NJ. She specializes in treating the body as a whole and focuses on nutrition. She performs EMG/NCV, biofeedback, therapeutic strapping and osteopathic manipulation.
Dr. Patel has a background in chiropractic medicine which helps her take a more holistic approach in patient care.
She medically supervises physical therapy and gives each patient a unique structured plan based on his/her individual needs.
Avni Sawhney, DPT has over a decade of experience in physical therapy. She graduated from Wayne State University with a doctorate in physical therapy in 2008. Her main focus is to help patients who are suffering with acute or chronic pain and get them back to living their normal lives and performing their usual activities. She uses various techniques such as electrical stimulation, neuromuscular re-education, taping, phonophoresis, therapeutic exercises and other modalities as well. Each treatment is personalized according to the individual and their goals. Her main treatment is to reduce pain, improve strength and get you back to enjoying life again.

- As a healthcare professional, my work involves assisting clients to find appropriate treatment providers for resolution of their medical conditions. Most recently, I encouraged a reluctant client to change providers and get another opinion from Dr. Ramundo at PMP. Her condition had been dragging on without much progress at the prior physician office. At the first visit Dr. Ramundo provided an additional diagnosis that could be the cause of her pain and recommended she bring additional test results to his office. He proceeded with procedures that were helpful for both conditions and after just a few short visits the patient was satisfied with her results and was able to get back to her normal activities. She was so happy with her results that she was giggling like a child at her last visit and thanked the physician and myself for the assistance. It is so gratifying to really be able to make an impact on another individuals life! - My name is Scott ... For the last 20+ years I’ve lived with pain on all levels all the time. The difference between dr ramundo is that he not only listens, but also dives in to find and cure the root cause of it. It’s just different with him because he not only relates with his patients, but also has an amazing bedside manner and is compassionate to my needs. He hires the most amazing people around him and his staff works tirelessly to help in any way they can. Although my situation is going to be this way for my remaining years, he helps me to do the best I can as pain free as possible even though in my case pain will always be significant. What more can a patient ask for??? If your willing to open your mind to different solutions, he stands behind you with your needs. There are enough stars allowed for him and his staff ..... there is nothing worse then being in pain and feeling like no one is there for you. The girls on his staff always work tirelessly to help solve any issues that’s come up ASAP. There will always be people that are unhappy. - Been going here since 2005 and without a doubt the best Pain Management Doctors Group and Office in the State of New Jersey bar none. Besides the doctors, the office staff and PA’s are “THE BEST”. They follow through on EVERYTHING.
